Top Priorities

Like the overall Mid-Hudson Valley region, Columbia County residents emphasize business and employment over other priorities.  While affordable health care, ranked number one in 2007, remains an important issue for residents in the county, its has fallen in the rankings.  Another notable change in the county, fewer residents are concerned about reducing taxes which was the second most pressing issue five years ago.

Other key issues in the county include improving the quality of education, providing more services for seniors, protecting open space, and providing more after-school activities.
