211 is a free telephone information line that Mid-Hudson Valley residents can use to find health and social services in their community. It is now available in all seven counties of the region. Yet, most residents are unaware of the service.
Sullivan Counties have heard or read something about the 211 information line. 21% of Putnam County residents know about the free service, and 18% of Orange County residents are aware of it. About one in six residents in Greene and Ulster Counties say they have heard of the service, and only 12% of Columbia County residents are aware of the program.
