Top Priorities

Since 2002, keeping businesses in the area and improving the quality of public education have been the two most important issues for Greene County residents.  In 2012, the same holds true.  Job creation is also important in this county.

However, changes have occurred in Greene County.  Providing more after-school activities no longer places in residents’ top five priorities.  In 2007, Greene was the only county where after-school activities ranked among residents’ top five priorities.  In fact, only three of residents’ top five priorities from 2007 remain in that set today.  Job creation and providing services for senior citizens have entered residents’ upper tier of priorities.  Reducing taxes remains in the top five.

Unlike 2007 when just one-tenth of a point separated the top five most important priorities, there is greater distinction this year.
