Putnam County
Putnam County residents continue to be focused on economic issues.  In 2002, reducing taxes received an average score from Putnam County residents of 7.6.  It ranked as the third most pressing priority.  Today, residents feel even more strongly about the issue.  The need to reduce taxes receives an average score of 8.1 and is the leading priority for Putnam County residents.  It is followed in importance by a concern to keep businesses in the area with an average score of 7.9.

The next highest priority for Putnam County residents is making health care more affordable with an average score of 7.6.  Ranked at number three, affordable health care is a higher priority in Putnam County now than it was five years ago.  At that time, it ranked seventh out of the nineteen issues with an average score of 7.3.  

Other top priorities for Putnam County residents include public education and services for senior citizens.  Putnam County residents do not rate protecting open space or providing more after-school activities as highly as they did in 2002.
