On the county level, Putnam County residents rank increasing the number of public areas fifteenth.

Half of Putnam County residents, 50%, are satisfied with the rate of growth in their community, which is comparable to the 46% who shared this view in 2007.  However, like other counties in the region the proportion of people who now prefer to have more growth has increased from 17% five years ago to 33% now.  In contrast, the share of individuals who wants to see less development has declined from 36% in 2007 to 16% this time.
