Top Priorities

Putnam County follows other regional trends.  In 2012, residents in the county are focused on keeping businesses in the area and creating jobs.  In 2007, business retention ranked second only behind concern about rising taxes.  Of note is the ascension of job creation.  The issue now places second compared with ninth in 2007.

Although no longer the leading priority in the region, reducing taxes is the third most important issue in Putnam County.  Providing services for senior citizens and improving public education round out the top five priorities for the region.

Issues related to health care are still areas of worry for Putnam County residents, but their rankings have declined since 2007.
