Sullivan County residents were asked to gauge how important a host of concerns were for their community. The issues covered jobs and the economy to health care, taxes to public education, and a variety of other community services. Using a scale of 0 to 10 with 10 being a top priority and 0 being not a priority at all, residents assessed the amount of attention they believed should be placed on each area.
Economic and health related issues comprise the top five priorities for Sullivan County residents. They rate keeping businesses in the area as their most important concern with an average score of 8.0.
This issue is followed by priorities to make health care more affordable and to create more jobs. Sullivan County residents also rate making health insurance easier to get and reducing taxes as important concerns. They rank fourth and fifth as priorities, respectively. There is little difference, however, in how Sullivan County residents rate these top five issues. Only two-tenths of a point separates the top priority from the fifth priority for these county residents.
