Residents in Sullivan County continue to be concerned with the economy in their area. Like 2007, business retention is the most important priority for county residents along with the need to create more jobs. Importance is also placed on improving public schools and providing services for senior citizens. Both issues have moved up on the list of priorities.
Other noteworthy changes pertain to health care and taxes. In 2007, making health care more affordable ranked second among Sullivan County residents. Now, the issue ranks fifth. Making health insurance easier to get has also declined in ranking as has reducing taxes. The latter rounded out the top five priorities for Sullivan County.
